How Overtime Is Calculated

Hourly Rate

Basic Salary ÷ 30 days ÷ 8 hours = hourly rate

Weekday Overtime

Hourly Rate × 1.5 × number of overtime hours

Weekend/Holiday

Hourly Rate × 2.0 × number of overtime hours

Important Notes

  • Normal working hours: 8 hours/day, 48 hours/week
  • Any hours beyond 8/day count as overtime
  • During Ramadan: max 6 hours/day for Muslims
  • Employer cannot force overtime without consent
  • Max overtime: 3 hours/day per Saudi law
