Saudi Law Notice Period Rules

Unlimited contract under 2 years → 30 days notice
Unlimited contract 2+ years → 60 days notice
Fixed-term contract → 30 days notice

Notice Period Rules

Under 2 Years

Unlimited contract: 30 days notice required by either party.

2+ Years

Unlimited contract: 60 days notice required by either party.

Pay in Lieu

If notice is not served, the party skipping it must pay salary for the notice period.

Important Notes

  • Notice period starts the day after written notice is given
  • Both employer and employee must serve or pay notice
  • Employer cannot reduce notice period unilaterally
  • Some contracts have longer notice — check your Qiwa contract
  • During notice period, full salary must be paid
