Which Fuel Grade Should You Use?

Most passenger cars in Saudi Arabia run on either Gasoline 91 or Gasoline 95. Check your vehicle's owner manual or the label inside the fuel cap — it will state the minimum octane rating required.

Gasoline 91 — SAR 2.18/litre (Regular) The most common and affordable option. Suitable for standard petrol-engine vehicles including most Japanese, Korean and economy sedans. If the fuel cap says "91 octane minimum" this is your grade.
Gasoline 95 — SAR 2.33/litre (Premium) Recommended for newer European cars, turbocharged engines and vehicles where the manufacturer specifies 95 octane. Using 91 in a 95-spec engine can cause knocking over time and affect performance.
Gasoline 98 — SAR 3.83/litre (Super Premium) Designed for high-performance and sports vehicles such as BMW M-series, Mercedes AMG and Porsche. Unless your car specifically requires 98 octane there is no practical benefit over 95.
Diesel — SAR 1.79/litre Used in trucks, buses, SUVs and commercial vehicles. The 2026 price resulted from Aramco's annual review effective 1 January 2026. Never use diesel in a petrol engine or vice versa.
Kerosene — SAR 1.59/litre Used for heating and industrial purposes. Updated to SAR 1.59 in April 2026 from the previous SAR 1.33.

Aramco announces updated petrol prices on the 10th of each month. The new prices apply immediately at all stations across the Kingdom.

When does Aramco update diesel prices?

Diesel prices are reviewed once a year, announced at the end of December and effective from 1 January. The 2026 diesel price of SAR 1.79 per litre is fixed until 31 December 2026.
